How long should it take to beat days gone? ›

When focusing on the main objectives, Days Gone is about 36½ Hours in length. If you're a gamer that strives to see all aspects of the game, you are likely to spend around 65 Hours to obtain 100% completion.

Once you start to explore in Days Gone, and eventually get past the Cascades and Hot Springs, you'll realize the game is much bigger than it initially appears. That opening zone you begin in is only about a third of the full Days Gone map, and as you start to unlock new areas it just keeps going.

In that time Deacon can unlock different endings depending on the people in his life and how he has interacted with them. Each different ending will play after the ending credits, but only the secret ending gives an idea for a possible sequel.

Clear nests, because they block fast travel. Don't try to take on a horde too early. Don't start a NERO generator until you're sure you've taken out all of the loudspeakers. Don't stray too far from your bike unless you have to.

You can find Days Gone IPCA tech throughout the game, although you'll have no idea why until the end. HOWEVER, you'll unlock a secret weapon if you get them all so it's really worth it. The trouble is you can't unlock it until the credits roll on the Days Gone.

It lets them know exactly where you are, so when a good Days Gone tip is that if you're sneaking up on some unaware enemies, turn that flashlight off by pressing down on the d-pad.

Secret Ending

In order to trigger this mission, you will need to have completed all previous main storyline missions. While it won't be available immediately, we found that it is simply best to complete other activities around the map while you wait for the radio call to come through.

It's fairly easy - even on the higher difficulties - after you gained a few good skills and better weapons. My first run was on Survivor II and the endgame was a breeze. I'd say that some challanges in challange mode are difficult but story mode is not.

Days Gone is a slow burner that burns from mediocrity to an experience you will remember. It's funny that two of my favorite games I've ever played came out in the same year and both are about zombie apocalypse. The two are notably different though.

It's not original or perfect, but it's really enjoyable from the title screen to the ending credits. Days Gone doesn't re-invent the Open World concept, but thanks to the terrific combination of survival elements and third-person action, it's still a lot of fun. It has rough patches, but Days Gone is a good time.
